PrivacyPrivacy policyLast updated September 27, 2026. This page describes what the site does with
your data. The site stores very little, so the page is short. We do not collect what you typeThe site has no forms. The contact page is a mailto: link, so
writing to us opens your own mail client, and the message goes from you to us
without passing through our systems. Nothing you type into the site reaches us.The same is true of the sandbox. The code you write there runs in your browser
with an opaque origin, and it is never sent to a server. The
terms explain how this works.Three preferences in local storageThe site stores three values in your browser's local storage:KeyWhat it holdsfusion-color-modeWhether you chose light or darkfusion-api-tierWhether you prefer the styled or headless API tablesfusion-sandbox-arrangementHow you left the sandbox panes arrangedThat is the complete list. None of the keys identifies you, and none is sent
anywhere. You can read and delete all three in your browser's developer tools.
Clearing the site's data removes them, and you lose only these three
preferences. The site uses no cookies, no session storage, and no analytics. It has no
tracking script from us or from anyone else, and no pixel, tag manager, or
advertising identifier. We do not know how many people visit.Maps load pictures from other servicesThe maps on the site draw pictures that come from other services:WhatFromStreets, places, and namesOpenFreeMapHills and contour linesTerrain Tiles on Amazon Web ServicesAerial photographsThe U.S. Geological SurveyYour browser asks these services directly, so each one receives your IP address
and which part of the map you are looking at. The weather radar comes through
our own server from the Iowa Environmental Mesonet, which sees our server and
not you. The map labels use the site's own fonts, so they add no font service. What our hosting provider recordsA hosting provider serves the site. Like every web server, it records each
request: an IP address, a URL, a user agent, and a timestamp. We do not use
those logs to build profiles, and we have not turned on any product that would.
We mention the logs because they exist on infrastructure we do not control. The site serves its own fonts, so loading a page does not tell a font service
that you visited. Why the policy is shortThe site holds almost no data: three preferences in your browser, no cookies,
and no analytics. What leaves your device is what a page needs to work, such as
the map pictures above. A longer policy would claim rights over data we do not
hold.If this changes, this page changes with it, and the previous wording stays in
the repository's history.Contact usSend questions, or a request to remove something, to the address on the
contact page.
