Every algorithmic-trading platform we've looked at asks you to trust someone else's box. The strategy is closed. The data the strategy reads is on someone else's machine. The capital often sits in someone else's account. You read a dashboard. You hope.
Apex starts from the opposite premise.
Local-first
Strategies, market data, and the engine that runs them all live on your machine. The sub-strategies (momentum, mean-reversion, sentiment) ship as code you can read. The runtime decisions (when a signal fires, why, how much weight to give it) are inspectable from the same machine that produced them.
Battle-tested sub-strategies, composed by you
Apex doesn't ship one secret algorithm. It ships a set of sub-strategies, each well-studied, each with documented edges and known failure modes. You compose them: a momentum signal windowed to 20 days, a mean-reversion overlay on a 2σ band, an AI sentiment filter from news + social. The composition is yours. The math is open.
AI sentiment, layered in
Sentiment analysis is a real signal. When a stock's news flow turns negative ahead of an earnings miss, momentum-only systems miss it. Apex layers sentiment from configurable sources (news, social, custom feeds) into the same composition pipeline as the quantitative subs. You decide whether sentiment vetoes a signal, weights it, or just shows up in the report.
Backtest before any capital moves
Every composition runs on your historical data first. You see the equity curve, the drawdown, the slippage, the per-strategy contribution. You decide whether to take the system live, paper- trade it, or shelve it.
Your broker, your call
Apex doesn't custody your capital. It signals; you (or, opt-in, the engine on your authorization) execute through your own broker's API. The "trade" button is yours to wire up, and yours to disconnect.
What you get back
A tool that lets you run an algorithmic strategy without trusting a black box, paying a fund 2-and-20, or handing over custody of your capital. Compose what you understand. Audit what runs. Trade on your terms.
